Smokin' the crack in the cop car ...

Courtey of

A man accused of torching an unmarked police car last week told police that he got into the car to get high by "smoking crack" when his lighter exploded and fell to the floor, igniting the carpet.

Police had suspected arson when the unmarked 2001 Chevrolet was discovered on fire early Friday on St. Casimir Avenue.

In addition to the car, which was destroyed, a nearby unmarked police van also caught fire and was damaged.

"The investigation led to a Darryl Parker," Yonkers police Lt. Diane Hessler said today. "He went to the detective division and gave a statement that he lit the fire."

Parker, 41, of 300 Palisade Ave., Yonkers, was charged Saturday with third-degree arson, a felony.

His court information was not immediately available.

That is the funniest thing I've ever heard. Got into a police car to smoke crack, accidentally caught the car on fire and the fire spreads to another police van. Hilarious!
