Stupid Criminal Files to Host Another Contest

As you may remember, when we celebrated our 2-year anniversary back in January, we held a contest and gave away two $15 Amazon gift certificates. We were very pleased with the participation, and were excited to award regular SCF readers.

In fact, we liked it so much, we're going to do another!

Due to an expected commitment, our contributors will have limited availability to post to the blog during the last half August and most of September. As you may already know, we've had limited resources to give the blog the attention it deserves during the summertime. We do not want to ignore the blog like this again.

Plus, we have always had the goal of making the SCF into a community-driven blog by encouraging readers to send in their stories. So we're going to have another contest!! We are giving away two $10 amazon.com gift certificates! Here are the details:

For every tip received via email on a stupid criminal story between August 13th and October 1st, that email address will receive one entry for the contest. On October 5th, the email addresses will be tossed into a hat and two will be picked out to receive the certificates. There are no limits to enter, and no limits on winning. Yes, that's right! If you send us 20 emails with 20 stories, you will receive 20 entries! If your email address is drawn twice, you will receive both certificates!

And there is a special bonus! If you subscribe to the SCF (see the subscribe me link on the right side of your screen), we are offering a bonus entry! Any email address that is on our subscription list when the contest closes on October 1st will receive two entries for every email received that resulted with a story posting to the blog.

So start looking for those stories and send them in between August 13th and October 1st. Any emails received prior to or after the contest dates are still appreciated, and will be posted (following normal guidelines) to the blog, but will not receive an entry into the contest.

3. SCF Editors have the right to not post a story.
4. If story is not posted on SCF, contest entry will not be accepted.
5. If story's originating email address is on the Feedblitz Subscriber List on October 1, 2007, the email will receive one (1) additional entry.
