A US tourist was found to have 70,000 euros (89,000 dollars) worth of drugs stashed in her hairstyle when she arrived in Ireland, according to the country's customs service.

The woman's "beehive" hairstyle contained about a kilogramme (2.2 pounds) of cocaine concealed in black cotton packages in her hair.

A US national, she had been detained and searched after arriving in Cork airport in the south of the country from Lagos having flown via Amsterdam.

She was arrested and handed over the Ireland's Gardai police.

Believe it or not, the years I spent dealing in the casinos... you are not allowed to have this kind of hairstyle there either just for this reason... too many women over the years got busted stealing chips and then "pretending" to scratch their head and stash the chips in the beehive...
